The Wine Enthusiast
Dad will feel like a king when he visits Murrieta’s Well or Underdog Wine Bar at Concannon, perfect spots to fuel up for a full day of wine tasting. After lunch, why not take the Livermore Valley Wine Trolley and visit some Livermore Valley faves like Steven Kent or build-your-own at the WineMaker’s Studio at Wente Vineyards? Finish the day with dinner at any one of the Tri-Valley’s fine restaurants some of whom (like Zephyr) will waive the corkage fee if you bring in a bottle from one of our local stops. Uncle Yu’s at the Vineyard offers delectable Chinese-fusion cuisine and quite the variety of wine. Want something a little more casual? Try Double Barrel Wine Bar — they have a huge wine menu from around the world to around the corner as well as exquisite farm-to-table food pairings.
The Beer Lover
Nothing says Father’s Day better than a day full of beer. Why not start off at The Hop Yard American Alehouse and Grill? A Breakfast Burger and Beermosa will put Dad in a great mood. After brunch, be sure to get your Tri-Valley Beer Trail Passport, head out to Danville and hit the Growler Pub, where you can pick up a growler to take home. Snake back through to Dublin and pick up Three Sheets then maybe swing on over to Hop Devine in Livermore and back to Pleasanton to end your beer excursion at the Beer Baron Bar and Kitchen for the ultimate pub experience of amazing all-American cuisine and the finest selection of beers on tap. For a safe and easy way to travel to your craft brewery destinations, check out Whole Brew World or the Blue Brew Bus.
If you want to get your day started on a more active note, the Tri-Valley has an abundance of regional parks and scenic trails for hiking and biking. Ever been up to Pleasanton Ridge? It’ll leave you breathless, in more ways than one. Lake Del Valle offers trails and other activities like paddle-boarding and canoeing or pick a gorgeous picnic spot. How about climbing at Rock City on Mt. Diablo or perhaps Dad may choose the more traditional Father’s Day route and hit one of our many golf courses around the Tri-Valley such as Wente’s Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship course. And don’t forget Umigo Indoor Kart Racing, The Wave Water Park and maybe finish the day with an evening of family-fun competition at Campo di Bocce.
