Whenever you sip a satisfying glass of California chardonnay, chances are your wine can be traced back to the original Wente clone, planted in the Livermore Valley in 1912.
One of the America’s oldest oldest family-owned wineries, “California’s First Family of Chardonnay” celebrates National Chardonnay Day May 21 with a cocktail reception and pairings hosted by fourth generation wine growers Carolyn and Phil Wente.
The event takes place at 5 p.m. at the Wente Vineyards Event Center, 5050 Arroyo Road in Livermore.
