The Tri-Valley is home to several impressive golf courses open to the public. See below for a few golf course suggestions below: 

  • Poppy Ridge Golf Course
    Twenty seven holes of pure, links-style golf designed by Rees Jones and located in the Livermore Valley Wine Country. The three nines are are named Merlot, Chardonnay and Zinfandel and they sweep through 3,000 acres of rolling hills.
  • The Course at Wente Vineyards
    Designed by golf great Greg Norman, the 18-hole championship course is a picturesque 7,181-yard, par-72, upscale, daily-fee golf course tucked away in the scenic Livermore Valley Wine Country. 
  • Dublin Ranch Golf Course
    The first and only golf course in Dublin. This par 63 layout boasts 11 unique par 3s, five solid par 4s, and two demanding par 5s.

Beer Tasting

Does your dad love a cold pint? The Tri-Valley is a hub of craft breweries, taprooms, and alehouses.     Dubbed as the first brewery in Livermore since Prohibition, Altamont Beer Works is a locally-owned hot spot amongst locals and visitors alike. Located near Livermore Valley Wine Country and several wine tasting rooms. 
  • Shadow Puppet Brewing Company
    Family-owned craft brewery specializing in designing unique beer flavor profiles by combining traditional brewing techniques with uncommon ingredients. Features 22 rotating beers on tap.

If your dad is a master angler, you’re in luck. Spend the day near the water at one of the following recreational areas: 

  • Del Valle Regional Park
    5-mile long lake featuring a variety of water activities, boat rentals and a boat dock. 
  • Shadow Cliffs Recreation Area
    Located just a few minutes from Downtown Pleasanton featuring boat rentals and plenty of shoreline.
  • Los Vaqueros Watershed & Marina
    Situated on the outskirts of Livermore and known as one of the best fishing venues in the area. 

Outdoor Activities

  • Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park
    Situated near Downtown Pleasanton featuring 5,271-acres of parkland ideal for hiking and biking.
  • Las Trampas Regional Preserve 
    Located on the border of Danville and San Ramon, this park features 5,778 acres of wilderness and an expanded trail system that allows hikers and horseback riders to enjoy its remote and rugged areas.
  • Mount Diablo State Park
