SF Beer Week in the Tri-Valley
SF Beer week is a 10-day celebration of the Bay Area’s craft beer scene. Over the past few decades, the Tri-Valley has become home to a growing community of breweries, taprooms and alehouses, many of which are joining in this year’s SF Beer Week festivities. From beer judging classes and 5-course dinners complete with beer pairings to costume parties and old fashioned tap takeovers. Hop-heads and beer-lovers can take their pick from any of the following beer-centric events happening between February 7th – 16th in the Tri-Valley.
BEER JUDGING 101 CLASS @ BOTTLETAPS
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8th @ 1PM
Think you’re a beer expert? Put your skills to the test with this beer tasting and judging class, taught by Grand Master Beer Judges David Teckam and Brian Cooper. Afterwards, stick around BottleTaps for dinner and a few brews!
ALTAMONT TAP TAKEOVER @ BEER BARON IN LIVERMORE
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8th @ 8PM
The team at Altamont Beer Works is taking over the taps of Beer Baron in Livermore. They will feature several Altamont Beer Works beers, including: Mac Drizzle and Smooth Operator. The house DJ will start spinning all the old school and hip hop hits at 8pm.

The talented crew at Eight Bridges Brewing Company are celebrating their 6th anniversary, and you’re invited! Hella Pie Pizza Company will be on-site serving up delicious pizzas from 1pm-8pm, and a few creative Beer-Cocktails will be made available for the special day. Enjoy live music all day, with Meredith McHenry taking the stage from 1pm-4pm and Thrown Out Bones playing from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

The perfect afternoon for hop-heads, Shadow Puppet Brewing Company is giving beer-lovers the chance to blend their own beers! Tickets include a 5 oz. beaker glass and unlimited pours from 24 different taps so you can blend beers to your heart’s content.

Shadow Puppet Brewing Company is partnering with Charming Fig Catering to bring you a special Grazing Board Building & Beer Pairing Class! Sip on local craft beer and learn how to arrange a tasty grazing board in this 2-hour workshop.
LIVERMORE DOWNTOWN BREW CRAWL & FOOD DRIVE @ DOWNTOWN LIVERMORE

Downtown Livermore will be buzzing with the release on Feb 13th of the brand new all-Livermore brewery collaboration Double IPA at five downtown craft beer tap houses. There is no charge or glassware for this event. Just come down with some food to donate, and enjoy one of many local beers on tap downtown.

BottleTaps is excited to host Almanac Beer Co. for their only East Bay event for SF Beer Week. Almanac Brewmaster Phil Emerson will be here to talk about Almanac and their wonderful beers. Chef Joe Bishop will be on hand to discuss his creations and BottleTaps owner and Beer Judge Eric Wall will discuss how the pairings came about. This is a 5 course beer pairing dinner that matches Almanac beers with Chef Joe’s delectable creations. Each course will come with a 6-8oz pour of the listed beer. Dinner will include the following pairing courses.

Morgan Territory Brewmaster Craig Cauwels will be here to talk about Morgan Territory, their wonderful beers and impressive accomplishments. Beachwood Brewing and Beachwood Blendery are slated to take over the Beer Baron Pleasanton taps for a second straight year. This brewing team is one of the most awarded breweries since their founding and is a personal favorite of the Beer Baron team.
