The East Shore Loop at Del Valle Regional Park is a rewarding hike with sweeping views of Lake Del Valle and the surrounding East Bay hills. It’s a moderately challenging trail that packs in scenic overlooks, peaceful creek crossings, and a great workout. Get ready to unplug – because while this park doesn’t get great cell service, you’ll enjoy the views!
Dog-Friendly: Allowed on leash in developed area & off leash on trails
What to Expect
Start your adventure at the Arroyo staging area and follow the East Shore Trail as it winds along the hills above the lake. After a steady climb, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views and a breezy ridge walk before looping back down toward your starting point. Along the way, you’ll pass oak groves, open meadows, and maybe even spot some grazing cattle. It’s a loop you’ll want to come back to in every season.
