Harvest Season in Livermore Valley Wine Country

Every fall, the Livermore Valley Wine Country comes alive as our winegrowers pick the fruit of their labor (literally). The vineyards trade their summer green for gold, red, and amber, the crush pads run all morning, and the whole valley smells like grapes.

You don’t have to be a wine expert to love harvest season. Here’s what to know before you go, plus the tastings, stomps, and events worth building a weekend around.

Fall brings out the good stuff. Estate tours, winemaker dinners, live music, comedy nights, happy hours, and tastings you won’t catch any other time of year. Here are a few worth planning a weekend around.

Hints of Harvest: A Women's Wine Collective

Kick off harvest season with the Women's Wine Collective at Olivina, where 14 female-driven Livermore Valley wineries pour the bottles they actually love. Meet the women behind the wines, grab something from the food truck, and settle in for the golden hour.

Terroir at the Table:  September Soiree

Seven acclaimed female chefs and eight female-led Livermore Valley wineries come together for a collaborative evening of hors d'oeuvres followed by a seated dinner, with each course paired to a local pour. It is a celebration of women supporting women and the artistry behind the region's food and wine scene.

TASTE: The Livermore Valley Wine Experience

Four days of eating and drinking your way through Livermore Valley, kicking off with Taste Our Terroir, where twenty winery and restaurant teams battle it out for the best pairing and you get a vote. From there, pick your adventure: a 1920s speakeasy, a New Orleans afternoon, a barefoot grape stomp, bubbles at brunch, or all of the above.
