Know Before You Go

A little prep goes a long way when you’re heading out on the trails:

  • Always bring water with you, even if you don’t think you’ll need it.
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes for uneven or rocky terrain.
  • Ticks are present at all of our parks. Wear long socks and pants and stay away from tall grass.
  • Stick to marked trails and help keep these spaces beautiful.
  • Leave wildflowers, mushrooms, and plants as you find them.
  • Avoid stepping on blooms or wandering off-trail for photos.
  • Give wildlife space and never feed or approach animals.
  • Pack out everything you bring in.
