Welcome in the Year of the Rabbit by celebrating the Lunar New Year in the Tri-Valley. This year’s line up features a world-class museum gallery dedicated to thousands of years of Chinese history, local restaurants offering up traditional Chinese cuisine, kid-friendly activities, as well as live performances and demonstrations.

Livermore Valley Arts Lunar New Year Celebration

A free event featuring traditional Chinese dance, martial arts demonstrations, food, crafts , and other activities to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Join Livermore Valley Arts and Las Positas College in partnership with Xiaopei Chinese Dance, KungFu Dragon USA, and Zitheras Academy to Celebrate the Lunar New Year. Featuring performances and demonstrations from Xiaopei Chinese Dance, Chinese flute, Guzheng (Zither), Kung Fu Dragon, and more! 

Livermore Public Library: Paper Dragon Craft Sessions

This family-friendly craft session will walk students through the process of making paper dragons. This event is free and requires no registration.

Livermore Public Library: Children's Storytime Sessions

This family-friendly storytime will highlight traditional Lunar New Year celebrations. This event is free and requires no registration.

Livermore Public Library: Lunar New Year Celebration

At 10:15AM, take part in a family-friendly storytime that highlights traditional Lunar New Year celebrations. A children’s parade will follow shortly after. At 11AM, guests are welcome to enjoy a performance by the Red Panda Acrobatics. A craft session creating paper dragons will follow. This event is free and requires no registration.

Blackhawk Museum: Into China

Blackhawk Museum’s Into China gallery is a permanent exhibit that features various artifacts, sculptures and displays that span across thousands of years of Chinese history. This world-class collection features one of the world’s largest and most detailed to-scale model of the Forbidden City, a to-scale replica of the Emperor’s Throne, larger-than-life wood carvings, and the Emperor’s Terracotta Army cast from original terracotta warriors. 

Entry to this exhibit in included in the general admission price.
